I am surprised by how much I'm enjoying this book. It was published in 1860, but I'm finding it to be an easy, fun mystery.Edited to add (May 9th): I LOVED reading this book. It has been my favorite read so far this year.

That's interesting. Perhaps I could suggest it for book club for the mystery genre. It's hard to find a mystery that's "clean."
Wow! The more I read the more I love this book. 3/4 finished and it keeps getting better.
